Researchers Sega Networks and Sensor Tower have recently published a comparative study of mobile games in the year 2016 in terms of total downloads against the revenue they generated on the App Store in the US. It can be noted that Clash Royale and Pokémon Go surpassed their opponents in terms of income. It can also be noted that this study demonstrates the fact that many downloads do not necessarily rhyme with massive revenues!
So we can see that the top 10 most profitable apps in the App Store last year were dominated by Clash Royale. Supercell’s flagship title accounted for 19.1 million downloads in the US, while Pokémon Go came in second place, while Niantic’s game was downloaded more than twice as many (42 million times), Appeared six months later! This study also shows that Clash Royale and Pokémon Go have generated more than double the other eight games gathered in this top 10! In opening, one can ask the question of who can dethrone these two giants of the mobile game facing especially the resurgence of communication of the two studios concerned.
